On our way over to Shelton, Washington we stopped by a Rotary water splash park in Auburn.

Lake Chelan Bach Festival
The last week was spent commuting to Chelan for the Lake Chelan Bach Festival. Caitlin helped watch Brooke for the first half of the week and Kent parents helped out for the second half of the week. Here are some photos from the concert last night.

June Veggie Garden
It was exciting to see how much our garden had grown while we were in Alaska.
We've been snacking on peas every day.
Messy Week
Brooke learned two new tricks the other day... 1: squatting and 2: shaking the cheerios out of the "no spill" container.
We spend lots of our time making sure Brooke doesn't squish her fingers in the doors. It's such a fun game for her to close and open doors.
Brooke LOVES the rocks in our backyard. We sit on the rocks and bang them together. She also throws them over her shoulder and constantly tries to get them into her mouth. She will not let you hold her when walking on the rocks, she wants to be down and playing!
We took our showers the morning after we arrived home from Alaska and had a surprise of a flooded basement. So from Saturday to Monday we had no use of the drains. On Monday the plumber and Kent found the clog in the middle of the street. The city is still working on our street so they came out and dug a huge crater and finally fixed it.
We are still having water issues... yesterday they shut down our water and today we have very low water pressure. Not too much fun!

Bye Bye Petersburg!
My dad loves taking Brooke for little walks and she really likes going on them! At the airport she went on a walk with Grandpa before boarding the plane.

Grandma Carol and Brooke's great-grandparents enjoyed a few last moments before we left.
We were stuck in Juneau for a few extra hours when our plane had a mechanical so Brooke wandered around and met a few other traveling babies. She kept on visiting one baby and the mother was nice enough to let Brooke play with her toy!
In Seattle we happened to walk by the children's play area. Brooke got her energy out running around with all the other kids. She loved the stairs and slide.

11 Months Old

Brooke is only one month away from her first birthday! Most of her tenth month was spent in Alaska visiting family, camping, eating new foods, and exploring. She hardly crawls anymore. She doesn't know how to stand up without a wall, so she crawls to the nearest wall or surface so she can get up and walk. Depending on her mood she can be very steady or very wobbly. She has a bruise under one elbow and has had many bumps and bruises on her forehead from accidents.
She has learned how to communicate to get what she wants. When someone is on the computer, she walks over to them, starts dancing, and sings "ha, ha, ha". Her favorite songs are the Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Playhouse, The Gummy Bear Song and Baby Einstein's Baby McDonald (part 2). Brooke loves to dance. She dances to anything... an electric screwdriver, a bird cawing, a poem, but especially kids music. A day after we arrived in Alaska, Grandma Carol taught Brooke how to play the recorder.
She is INDEPENDENT and a busy girl. She walks around constantly exploring. At almost 19 lbs she is small for an 11 month old but makes up for her small stature with so much personality! She is starting to point at things, signs "more" and "all done", and makes sounds for dogs ("woo, woo"), cows ("mmmmmu"), and bears ("ggrrr"). She loves halibut, salmon and smoked blackcod! Her other favorite foods are watermelon, peas, bread, and strawberries.
Well, we're getting on the morning plane headed home. In twelve hours we will be home in our own beds!
