Traditional Danish Lunch

Before lunch Kent was presented a special gift.

SKOL!
Because Kent's mother is from Denmark, we have a special tradition of the traditional Danish lunch. The lunch is based around open-faced rye bread sandwiches of all sorts along with good conversation, family and to top it off... beer and schnapps.

The table is set!

It wouldn't be a Danish lunch without Akvavit! It may be hard to find, but if you do... make sure to stick it in the freezer before lunch.

Round 1: Pickled herring on buttered rye bread.

Round 2: Liver paste sandwich with pickled beets.

Round 3: Tomato and egg sandwich with salt and pepper.

... and finally Round 4: French bread with butter and cheese!

We all feel like Brooke after all that food! :) Time for a siesta...
