First Hike of the Year

Kent, Brooke and I got out for a great hike this afternoon. The weather was perfect with a mix of sunshine and shade. Every corner of the trail revealed another field of beautiful blooms.

Family photo about half way up the 2.5 mile climbing trail.

A view of the blooming pear orchards down below.

Every inch was covered with YELLOW!

At the top we took some time to sit and relax our tired muscles.

What a great view from the top!

Cassy had a big drink of water at the top and then started chasing squirrels.

Brooke got a chance to get out of the backpack and stretch her legs too!

Brooke fit just right in the backpack this time. She was so happy the entire three and a half hours we were out hiking. On the way up the mountain she practiced her "dadada's" which was pretty cute.

Arrow-leaf balsamroot was EVERYWHERE!

Today was another day that we feel so lucky to live in this little slice of heaven!
